Recently my niece Emma gave me an assignment. Apparently her class was doing a project with "Flat Stanley" and I was asked to take him on a tour of Oahu.
Our first stop was to see the King Kamehameha statue downtown. King Kamehameha conquered the Hawaiian Islands and formally established the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi in 1810.
Who wouldn't want a Waiola Shave Ice on a hot summer day?!
We HAD to stop and pay our respects to Duke Kahanamoku. Duke was one of the original Waikiki beach boys, and the "father of modern surfing."
Finally it was time for a surf sesh!
